The Quadfathers are excited to announce that our third installment of Mohawk Valley Cup (MVCIII) will be held August 16-17th 2014 at JFK Arena in Rome NY.
The teams invited to compete this year are:
Mass Maelstrom
NY Shock Exchange
Magic City Misfits
Minnesota Men's Roller Derby (Twin Cities Terrors)

Mass Maestrom received an automatic invite and will be looking to defend the title against some familiar and new faces. Looking to reclaim the title will be the New York Shock Exchange, the 2012 Champions, who lost in the finals last year by just 12 points.
The new faces that will be ready to challenge for the top spot this year include the Magic City Misfits, who split games with Mass last year, Minnesota Men's Roller Derby, Rock City Riot, Harm City Homicide, and Tampa Bay Men's Roller Derby.
Rounding out the tournament field will be the host league, The Quadfathers.

Quadfathers seek Head Coach
The Quadfathers are seeking a head coach for the upcoming 2014 season and beyond.
Our head coach is expected to work with the team, creating sound and innovative practice plans, strategizing for upcoming bouts, and utilizing their own enthusiasm and experience to make the Quadfathers the best they can be.
The Quadfathers currently practice on Sundays, from 1pm-4pm at the Utica Center for Development in downtown Utica. At the end of February, the Quadfathers will also be adding a Wednesday night practice from 7p-10p at the same location. On/around April 1st, the practices will move to our “summer” home, JFK Arena in Rome. We would expect our coach to be able to make at least one practice per week, hopefully more.
If you are interested in coaching the Quadfathers, please contact us at info@quadfathers.com, with a brief explanation of why you would like to coach The Quadfathers, along with a general description of what you feel you can contribute to the team.

Streaming Info on MVC2013
The audio feed will start at 1pm on Saturday, the video will be up for all games.
We couldn't be happier to work with some awesome folks (Tom, Chance, and Max Coyne; Paul LaPorte) who endeavor to professionally cover local and regional sports (plus some NY Mets!) and fill a serious void in coverage for our local high schools, regional MMA events, and others.
So, first off- head over to http://www.wuspfm.com/ and bookmark that site!
Next, do us a favor and get on facebook and like their page!
The streams will be available on their website, via their Apple app, their Android app, or via their Tune-In app (where they are listed as 1550AM WUSP), and, of course, the audio on local radio in the Utica-Rome area at 95.5 FM or 1550 AM.

Announcing our Head Officials!
The Quadfathers are excited to announce that we have taken an important step in our home league organizational structure with the addition of a formal Head Ref and Head NSO.
We are lucky enough to have a great pool of officials who regularly lend their services to help us out in our home events (and even travel with us in some cases!), but until recently we have relied on appointed skaters to organize our officials crews and have also relied heavily on our sister league, Central New York Roller Derby, for the organizational parts of getting crews together.
Without further adieu, we'd like to introduce and welcome Organic Panic as our Head Ref, and Fatal Exception as our Head NSO!!
Panic came to the area as a former skater from Suburbia Roller Derby, skated with CNY, and has since switched over to full time officiating, while running an amazing farm that keeps our bouts' awash in healthy fresh veggies. Her knowledge from a skater perspective led to an easy transition to refereeing, and she certainly knows how to deal with the boys on the track.
Fatal is a recent graduate of CNY's new skater training program, and has hit the ground running a big way since last winter, diving into NSO work while learning to be a skater at the same time. After attending the WFTDA NSO clinic at ECDX, and getting pulled into the Mass vs NYSE bout to NSO, she is excited about men's derby and her organizational skills are top notch.
For the 2014 season, these two will be our point people for officials' assignments for home bouts, as well as organizing officials who wish to travel with the team. They can be reached at refs@quadfathers.com and nso@quadfathers.com respectively
Tonight's co-ed scrimmage will be their debut as officials' organizers, so please join us in welcoming them to their new positions!
