Change to MVCIII lineup- VT Men's Roller Derby replaces Magic City

Unfortunately, the Magic City Misfits had to back out of coming to Rome for MVCIII. We are excited to announce that VT Men's Roller Derby (The Mean Mountain Boys) have agreed to step in and fill the open spot. That leaves the final list of participating teams as:

2014 Season Schedule!

We've been so busy planning for the third year of Mohawk Valley Cup that we almost forgot to fill you all in on the dates of our regular season games this year!

Our home bouts this season are once again in conjunction with our sister league, Central New York Roller Derby, as double headers with their regular season women's bouts. The guys start at 5:30, and all are held at JFK Arena, 500 W Embargo St, Rome NY 13440.

The Quadfathers are proud to announce the Wingate By Wyndham Rome as the official Hotel of the 2014 Mohawk Valley Cup.
The Windgate will also host the after party on Sunday following the awards ceremony.

The Quadfathers are excited to announce that our third installment of Mohawk Valley Cup (MVCIII) will be held August 16-17th 2014 at JFK Arena in Rome NY.
The teams invited to compete this year are:

Magic City Misfits

Tampa Bay Men's Roller Derby

Mass Maestrom received an automatic invite and will be looking to defend the title against some familiar and new faces. Looking to reclaim the title will be the New York Shock Exchange, the 2012 Champions, who lost in the finals last year by just 12 points.

The new faces that will be ready to challenge for the top spot this year include the Magic City Misfits, who split games with Mass last year, Minnesota Men's Roller Derby, Rock City Riot, Harm City Homicide, and Tampa Bay Men's Roller Derby.

Rounding out the tournament field will be the host league, The Quadfathers.

Quadfathers seek Head Coach

The Quadfathers are seeking a head coach for the upcoming 2014 season and beyond.
Our head coach is expected to work with the team, creating sound and innovative practice plans, strategizing for upcoming bouts, and utilizing their own enthusiasm and experience to make the Quadfathers the best they can be.
The Quadfathers currently practice on Sundays, from 1pm-4pm at the Utica Center for Development in downtown Utica. At the end of February, the Quadfathers will also be adding a Wednesday night practice from 7p-10p at the same location. On/around April 1st, the practices will move to our “summer” home, JFK Arena in Rome. We would expect our coach to be able to make at least one practice per week, hopefully more.
