MVC 2013- The Teams!

The Quadfathers are excited to announce the team invitations for the 2013 Mohawk Valley Cup.
We spent a lot of time trying to make the process of deciding invitations as fair and objective as possible, and we hate to leave any team out that wants to come, especially some of those who we have developed great relationships with in the northeast. We decided to make two distinct pools- top 10 teams, and teams ranked lower than 10, and pick 4 of the 8 teams from each pool. We felt this system would contribute to more exciting semi-final and final matchups and ultimately to a better fan/spectator experience. Since NYSE and The Quadfathers were automatic invites and each fell into one of these categories, it left 3 spots open to fill in each category. So we did a random draw of the remaining teams in each category to accomplish the final list.
We are very excited that Mohawk Valley Cup 2013 will be the first ever men's roller derby tournament of the modern era to feature teams from 3 countries!

Competing at the 2013 Mohawk Valley Cup will be (in alphabetical order by league name):
Capital District Trauma Authority (Albany, NY)
Manchester Roller Derby (Manchester, UK)
Mass Maelstrom (Lancaster, MA)
Montreal Men's Roller Derby (Montreal, Quebec, Canada)
New York Shock Exchange (NYC, NY)
Puget Sound Outcast Derby (Tacoma, WA)
The Quadfathers (Utica, NY)
Your Mom Men's Derby (Des Moines, IA)

For the teams that didnt make it in- we will contact you with details on a wait list. If any invited team does not get their payment in on time by June 1st, or backs out, their spots will open up (in order of list) to you.
We thank everyone for their interest and submissions, and hope the event remains in demand for 2014 to see some of the teams that didnt make the draw this year.
Also, keep checking the MRDA website for information on the officials' clinic scheduled for the Thurs-Fri before the Cup at the venue- there may be openings for scrimmages on Friday.
